Dinner and the Next Morning’s Breakfast

A Taco Tuesday Detour

Have you ever had a dinner so massive that you had to skip breakfast the next day? That’s exactly how I felt after my latest Taco Tuesday. I spent the rest of the week eating chicken and salads just to recover. Honestly, I like to eat this much at least once a month.

Last Tuesday, I was planning to visit my favorite Taco Tuesday spot, where you can get four brisket tacos and a tequila cocktail for only $14. Don’t worry—I’ll reveal that place in a future blog. Unfortunately, they were hosting a private event that night, so I had to find somewhere else to eat. I was hungry, and I needed another blog to write.

Finding Tony’s

Just five minutes away, I found Tony’s Mexican Restaurant. It’s a cool spot that I’d been meaning to visit for a while. When you walk in, you get a relaxed dining-room vibe with dim lighting, a fun atmosphere, and very friendly service.

They have a huge variety of Mexican food and cocktails on the menu, but if you’ve been following my blog, you already know what this is all about. I ordered street tacos with a tequila reposado martini, also known as a Golden Martini.

The Taco Lineup

For about $20, you get six street tacos with plenty of mix-and-match options. I went with two al pastor, two carnitas, and two brisket tacos.

Now let me talk about the size of these tacos. I’m not kidding when I say they come absolutely stuffed. On my own blog, I’m allowed to exaggerate a little, but it honestly felt like each taco had a pound of meat in it. Those things were heavy.

Chips, Beans, and Heat

The meal also came with a side of beans, and before I even ordered, they brought out chips with a spicy sauce. On my spice scale, the sauce lands at about a 5 out of 10—enough to get your attention without setting your mouth on fire.

Final Verdict

Overall, I had a great Taco Tuesday at Tony’s. I’m giving this place a thumbs-up. It’s reasonably priced, the food portions are huge, and it’s a great spot for a night out with friends or family.

Just be warned—you might not need breakfast the next morning.
